Development assistance for health is no longer an expanding resource for developing country health budgets. Tepid growth in this area since 2010 suggests that external funding will not grow at the rate seen earlier in the millennium. This prediction intensifies the need to increase domestic spending on health in some of the poorest countries. Fiscal space analyses have been done in a number of these countries to help prepare for the slowing down of development assistance for health growth
